DanceEast 1.33

DanceEast celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2013. Housed in the purpose-built Jerwood DanceHouse that opened on the Ipswich Waterfront in 2009 DanceEast hosts a range of dance classes, workshops, residencies and performances. The Jerwood DanceHouse is also home to DanceEast Centre for Advanced Training which is one of nine centres for young people with exceptional potential in dance, supported by the Department for Education.

DanceEast brings world class dance to the East of England, supports the development of artists at all stages of their careers, provides opportunities for artists and audiences to meet and works with partners across the region to encourage people of all ages and abilities to engage with dance as creators, performers and audiences.

A National Portfolio Organisiation, DanceEast is generously supported by funding from Arts Council England, Suffolk County Council and Ipswich Borough Council.
