Details

Creature Care is a unique service for discerning pet owners who believe their pets are special enough to be cared for in a home from home environment. Our service means you can:

Relax on holiday knowing your beloved pet is receiving the same creature care it enjoys at home (or continued home comforts) .

Go away for a day, 24hrs or longer and know your pet will be well looked after, fed and walked (where applicable!)

Know that someone will be giving your pet the same loving care and attention given by you.

WHO ARE WE?

Creature Care is run by Carol, besotted animal lover, with her very capable assistant (and husband) Alan and family, from our home. Creature Care was started when myself and a friend (who also ran Creature Care) realised that many pet owners have difficulty in finding somewhere to place their pets when they go on holiday or in an emergency but can't bear to put them in kennels/cattery or similar. So we decided to offer a welcoming, friendly, caring service ourselves to enable others to leave their pets happy in the knowledge that they won't suffer from separation anxiety or lack of attention and love.

I am based in South East London/North West Kent. We are in an ideal location, surrounded by woodland and parkland.

Ideal for fun walks for your dog(s).

Other domestic pet care includes, but not exclusively, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and reptiles.

Provisions for dog(s)

Creature Care will provide everything your dog requires apart from dog food (except where you are happy for your dog to be fed dry complete mix). It is the owner's responsibility to provide food for their dog(s), sufficient for the length of their stay. Owners are encouraged to provide familiar items eg familiar bedding or toy. If your dog has special dietary or medication needs this is not a problem, you just need to let us know. If your dog eats fresh meat or similar, you will need to provide the food which is to be cooked. Owners should ensure that Creature Care are kept up to date with regards to changes (if previously advised) of food or medication and provide an extra sheet explaining what should be given and when. Please ensure that, whilst in our care, your pet is wearing a fitted collar, complete with ID tag (where applicable). Creature Care will also add a temporary tag with our contact number for the duration of your dog(s) stay.

Walking

We are happy to walk your dog off lead unless you request otherwise. Your dog(s) should however have good recall if off lead. By doing so you accept full responsibility and liability for your dog(s) while off the lead if your dog runs away, gets lost, causes an accident, bites someone or gets into a fight with another dog. We will of course take every action possible to negate and minimise the risk of this ever happening.

Provisions for cat(s) - cared for in own home

Creature Care will collect keys in advance of the care required at an agreed time and date.

Care sheets should be up to date and if there are any changes, we should be advised in advance or provided with an new care sheet detailing new care arrangements and should be provided to us having been discussed with us prior to our visit.

Paying - Care/Boarding fee

Payment by cheque or cash on drop off of pet(s) or for collection at start of job.

Excess charges for drop off or collection outside of agreed hours
For overnight boarding we charge by calendar date and not by the 24 hours, generally. Particularly early and late times must be by earlier prior arrangement.

For day boarding the times of boarding are between 0800 and 1800. If you wish to leave your dog(s) earlier or collect later than these times it must be by prior arrangement and with our consent. There will also be an additional charge of £2 per additional hour or part hour if outside the standard times.

Dropping off later / picking up earlier than agree

If you leave your pet later than the agreed time but on the same day, there is no change to the stated charge. However, if you anticipate arriving later than agreed we ask that you make us aware of the later drop off time to ensure we are ready to receive your pet. If you drop your pet off on a later day than previously agreed there is no refund. Your 'slot' has been reserved for you from the confirmed date.
If you return from your holiday early and decide to collect your pet before the due date, there is no refund of payment. Full, original charge is payable.

All other pets

Call us to discuss your requirements but most other domestic loved ones cared for too (reptiles / rabbits / guinea pigs etc) in our home (where practically possible) or in their own home.

Vaccination/Worming/Fleas

As your dog(s) will come into contact with other dog(s) it should always have annual vaccinations to protect it against infections and disease. You dog(s) should also be wormed and treated for fleas before being boarded. It is your responsibility to ensure your pet is free of fleas. If fleas or worms are found to be present, we may treat your pet and you will be required to reimburse us for any expense incurred.

Injury or Illness

You agree to Creature Care making decisions regarding your pet's health/welfare whilst in our care, providing we are acting in the best interest of your pet and on the advice of a qualified veterinary surgeon. Alternatively, your emergency contact has authority to make such decisions.

If your pet becomes ill whilst you are away, we will contact you (or nominated person) on the emergency number at the first opportunity to discuss what has happened. If you require us to, or we cannot get hold of you (or nominated person), or we believe urgent medical attention is required, we will call your vet and discus its condition. If unable to contact your vet, we will contact our vet. If we think it is necessary your pet will be taken to the vet. The cost of treatment will be reclaimed upon your return if Creature Care has had to cover the cost of treatment. We will contact you on your emergency number at the first opportunity to discuss what has happened and keep you updated on your pet's progress.

Behaviour/Aggression

Dog's must be non-aggressive. Should it show aggressive tendencies towards us, or other resident dogs, or your dog's behaviour becomes uncontrollable, destructive or unreasonable, you accept that we may have to make the decision to be placed in a boarding kennel until your return and that this will be subject to a £20.00 transfer charge, plus you agree to pay all additional kennel fees in addition to our own fees. We will of course do our utmost to ensure that your dog behaves in an acceptable and appropriate manner whilst in our care.

Cats

We will give your cat(s) attention/play and grooming (if cat agreeable!) and of course feed them! We will also tend to lights, (indoor plants as required), draw/open curtains etc to avoid the property looking empty. If your cat(s) require medication during your absence you will need to have discussed what is required in advance of any care we provide.

For all other pets please call to discuss your requirements.
