CMA is a friendly ‘Not for Profit’ MMA club which trains in a mixture of Karate, Judo, Jujitsu, Muay Thai and western Boxing and Kick Boxing. Our real ethos is ‘street effective defence’ for which we have a lot of experience, but to this end have found that MMA* based training is a good vehicle for the members, it offers a street useful method as well as being good for use in the competitive arena with the correct ‘adaptations and rules’. Strong ethics of diversity and equality mean this is great for all ages, male or female. CMA is affiliated to the very well-known and World respected British Combat Association

We have all ages and abilities and do no push anyone to compete or fight. There are no BIG egos as you will find at some clubs. We all train to improve and for the love of the arts we practice.
We offer cost price equipment to all members so that it is a training route that is affordable for all.
Skills and techniques taken from various combative fighting disciplines including; Karate, Muay Thai, Jujitsu, Judo, Western Boxing, Kick Boxing and more.

*(Mixed Martial Arts – in recent years this tends to indicate a competition training method based on a striking art linked with a grappling art, but really the concept is old, really old and can be traced back to the Kushite’s in around 8th century BC! A more modern icon for ‘cross training’ being Bruce Lee but really it was about situations where a mix of different techniques to overcome different opponent’s in an actual fight to the death.)
