A lovely rural, family home, Coed Lan is in a quiet country village setting, nestled in the Swansea valley (9 miles from M4 Junction jct 45) and 10 miles south of the Brecon Beacons National Park and also a few minutes from the Black Mountain. The general area and particularly the mountains are great for walking and cycling, the irresistible Gower coastline is also only a short drive away, with its sandy beaches, wildlife and nautical attractions. The rear of Coed Lan benefits from a south east facing view of Varteg Hill affectionately known as ‘The Starvin!’, a formidable hill with public footpath access. Whilst nestled in The Swansea Valley, Coed Lan is also within easy reach of The Neath Valley.
A number of Golf Courses, Palleg Golf Course being the closest, are nearby as are local pubs serving fine ales and good food as well as supermarket facilities. The latter facilities conveniently all within walking distance of Coed Lan. An ideal location for family holidays, or multi-family stays, visit
Craig-Y-Nos Country Park (7 miles), Cefn-Yr-Erw (5 miles) primate sanctuary or the Dan Yr Ogof caves (7 miles), or by dropping into the next valley you can visit the spectacular Aberdulais falls waterfalls of the Vale of Neath (9 miles). You can ‘Go Ape’ at Margam Country Park (20 miles), a great day out for the children. If you prefer culture to climbing, there are many seasonal festivals and of course if sport is your thing, then the Liberty Stadium is close by serving premiership soccer and world class rugby union.
