Founded in 1862, Clifton College is one of the most prestigious independent boarding schools in the UK. It is located in the city of Bristol, the second largest city after London in the south of England. The College is only a 20-minute walk from the city centre and all its historic and modern attractions.

Accommodation & Facilities

The College has 9 boarding houses with a total of 450 beds on an open-campus in Clifton Village. It is a safe residential area with local shops and amenities just a 5-minute walk away. Boys and girls are accommodated on separate floors in study-bedrooms with 1-4 beds and supervised by Clifton College staff who are also accommodated in the boarding houses. The College has excellent sports facilities including a heated indoor swimming pool, sports hall, multi-activity hall, fitness centre, 6 tennis courts, football pitches, cricket pitch, outdoor volleyball court. Other facilities include a student common room, College shop, theatre, two dining-halls and WiFi throughout the campus.

Courses

Vacation Courses for students aged 13-17 combine 15 hours per week of English language tuition with activities, events, local visits and excursions (see sample timetable).

Academic Preparation Courses for students aged 14-17 combine 15 hours per week of English language tuition with 10 hours of academic subject tuition. These courses are designed for students wishing to continue their education at a UK boarding school. Also included are evening activities and daytime excursions.
