A perfect place to be – guided by nature

Clandon Wood is a nature reserve as well as a final resting place for our loved ones. In fact on arriving you would not guess it is a cemetery.

With thirty-one acres of traditional wildflower meadowland, lakes, wetland and young woodland inhabited by a wide and diverse range of flora and fauna our national award winning naturally managed burial ground provides the perfect final resting place for you or a loved one whatever faith, belief or thinking.

Core to the thinking behind Clandon Wood is the creation of a place of nature, beauty and openness where those left behind will want to come and spend time to reflect and remember for generations to come.

Our professionally qualified personnel with expertise in conservation and arboriculture manage the grounds to complement the farmland and woodlands around us to the benefit of local wildlife. Although most of the site is meadowland our newly planted trees blend the woodlands and grasslands of the neighbourhood together making us a large glade within a wood. Our 21 acre glade is managed as a wildflower meadow rich in nectar, seed sources and “hidey holes” for wildlife as diverse as the smallest mining bees to badgers in a rich patchwork of habitats. We have created two wildlife ponds full of dragonflies that now hunt the insects feeding on the flowers and grasses which are in turn fed upon by hobbies and other birds. In a landscape increasingly barren to wildlife our dedicated ground-staff works to support biodiversity from the ground up.

In fact the only way to really appreciate what we have to offer at Clandon Wood is to experience it first-hand. So come and see Clandon Wood for yourself – whether to visit our nature reserve or if you are thinking about choosing a plot, you will always be welcome.
