Carlisle Brewing Co 3.18

Alain & Alison Davis set up Carlisle Brewing Co in September 2013. It’s a small family run microbrewery that was initially set up in outbuildings at the rear of their freehouse, The Spinners Arms in Cummersdale, Carlisle. The Carlisle Brewing Co is the first brewery in Carlisle for 27 years.

The brewery expanded in October 2015 and now operates from a small unit in Carlisle’s Kingstown Industrial Estate.

They’ve spent a long time drinking real ale and having had a pub since 2007 selling it as well. Alain has a definite sense of the kind of beers he likes and enjoys brewing a wide range of beers but especially the more traditional styles and flavours like our Oatmeal Stout and Carlisle Best Bitter.

They love the tradition and the history surrounding British ales, and as a brewery are proud to be involved in the renewed interest in Carlisle’s long brewing heritage.
