Being a member of CUAS offer several opportunities. To name a few of our activities:
- Weekly talks on a range of astronomical topics
Tuesdays evenings in the Wolfson Lecture Theatre, Chemistry Dept. (Lensfield Road). Not an astrophysicist? No problem. Talks are tailored to a general public so if you are studying a competely different topic, you will be able to understand the lecture and learn a great deal.
- A range of observing events using the Northumberland and Thorowgood telescopes at the IoA. This is a great opportunity to observe the night sky using these historical telescopes.
- Day trips such as Astrofest and a visit to an observatory.
- Several social events throughout the year, such as publunches (to get to know other members), astropunting (enjoy the nightsky from the River Cam), the annual dinner (socialise with other members (new and members that have been with us for many many years) whilst enjoying great food and ambience), the annual Garden Party, to name a few.
