The Black Horse Pub is located on the Aylesbury Road in Great Missenden.
The pub has a friendly atmosphere offering real ales, keg beers, an open fireplace in the bar and eating areas.
The pub is newly refurbished in a tasteful style and benefits from state of the art kitchens. Our bar area has ample seating for drinking or dining. You can relax in our armchairs by the cosy open fire at one end of the bar and a log burner at the other.
Our capable team are able to cater for your every requirement. From a relaxing lunch to a canapé event, Christening and party for anyone we can tailor a menu for your needs.
We have regular coffee mornings for which we provide high quality teas and coffees from our Lavazza machine. Outside we have a large playground with swings, playframe and ample seating, all of which is securely fenced in. Our 5 aside football pitch is available for all our customers for a kick about or local tournament. Again this is fenced in for everyones safety.
We have an outside kiosk for summer use and a bbq area surrounding our large Jumbrella feature on our patio. Our small outside bar caters for our many events which take place on our fields. Both old and young camp on our fields. We have adequate toilet facilities and freshwater supplies for these outdoor guests.
Every year we are visited by the TWITS and AMPS who meet from UK wide and camp in our fields. We have catered for Marquee based parties and receptions. This year we hope to obtain a wedding licence. We have a large car park and overflow car park for your convenience.
Hot air balloons have flown from our back fields for many years and we are locally know as "the ballooning pub". The Balloons can been seen in the skies travelling along the Misbourne Valley. This is a regular event in the seasonal summer months.
Great Missenden is a delightful and picturesque Buckinghamshire village along the Misbourne Valley set in the beautiful Chiltern Hills. Great Missenden adjoins Little Missenden and Prestwood and is located between historic Wendover and Amersham. The quaint narrow high street is home to many local boutiques and country shops.
The village is best known as the home to the late author, Roald Dahl, the internationally famous children's author. The Famous Roald Dahl Museum is a very worthwhile and memorable visit - why not follow this with lunch at the Black Horse Pub.
