Barnaby Festival 4.06

Macclesfield's Festival of arts, created with its community and powered by volunteers. Launched in 2010 it has reinvented the centuries-old tradition of celebrating St Barnabas' Feast day.

In 2004 the town was dubbed a cultural 'desert'. A decade later Visit England described Barnaby Festival as "one of the best of its kind in the country".

Barnaby is financially supported by Arts Council England, Cheshire East Council and Macclesfield Town Council.

The programme is devised and delivered by a small part-time, paid team and more than a hundred volunteers.
