Now a little info on us!

My name is Shekel Yeboah. I am a first time mother, to my nineteenth month old daughter, Aggie.

As a first time mother, I found that there were no mother & baby/toddler groups that run on the weekends. As I work full-time, I did not have the opportunity to attend the mother and baby groups that were available during the working week in order to meet other parents and their children to gain new friends and express my feelings as a new parent.

This experience prompted me to create a parent & baby/toddler group, that is accessible to working parents and busy mums, who don't have the opportunity to attend weekday sessions.

I have an NVQ in Health & Social Care, I previously worked as a Legal Secretary and am now currently working as a HR Manager.

My name is Ama Opoku-Manu.
I have two years worth of Childcare/nursery experience. I have previous administration and legal secretarial experience and I am trained in First Aid.

We both have current enhanced CRB certificates.

We plan to run the following sessions/groups:

Baby massage:

Baby massage has a massive effect on the bonding needs of mother/father and baby. During baby massage, as a parent you can learn different techniques to calm and soothe your baby, and also massage techniques that help with their digestion and minor conditions such a talipes.

Sensory play:

Babies see colours and movement before they can define faces and objects. Sensory play enhances and helps promote their learning and development. Sensory play is a play time filled with different colours, textures, sounds and smells. This time is not only for babies but for toddlers too as it helps to stimulate and enhance all their different senses (sight, touch, smell, taste and hearing).

Imaginative play:

Come and experience life as a mermaid, a princess, a robot or perhaps a tree! Imaginative play allows your child to tap into their creative side, all whilst having fun.

Messy play:

Messy play requires no introduction. All that is required is a young child and either of the following: paint, water, sand, glitter, glue(supervised), paper etc. You choose what your child can and can't play with. All natural, non-toxic substances will be used.

Rhyme time:

Rhyme time gives your little one the chance to express themselves through music using actions, hand gestures and body movements.

Story time:

Story time not only does what it says on the tin, but it also prepares/trains your child to be able to sit and listen to a story as they would when they attend school. This helps your child to gain listening skills, use their imagination and to enhance pre-school learning.

Jumping & grooving:

All that energy that children naturally possess, can finally be channelled into something they'll love and enjoy. Jumping and grooving, is a time to jump around, dance, sing, laugh and just have fun, while listening to their favourite music.

During each session parents and children get to socialise, make new friends and learn new concepts and ideas.

We feel these classes will benefit the community by providing a place where parents & children can unite and talk about real life parenting issues whilst also bonding with their children and making new friends.
In addition, once a month we plan to host a fund raising event for our Charity of the month. (Disney Disco, Teddy Bear Picnic, Pirates & Fairies party).

Prices

Each session is £5.00-£6.00 (depending on your class.) 20% of your fee will be donated to our “Charity” of the month.

We hope to see you there. Please call our mobile, stated above if you have any queries.
