And if the trader isn’t registered, then you can politely ask the representative at your door if he or she would do so before starting the job. It will only cost the company £40.00 (+ vat) to join, and once on the register, consumers will be assured that they have a minimum level of protection in verifying the identity of the trader or businessman.
