Active Clubs Experience (ACE) works with schools and communities to engage primary school age inactive children in regular, enjoyable, physical activity including sport and fitness.

The ACE project delivers weekly fun after-school sports sessions in primary schools and community venues in south and east Leeds. This includes breakfast, lunchtime and community evening sessions, working with schools.

Aims

· Primary aim to increase the involvement of inactive children and young people aged 3 – 16 years who are at risk of sedentary lifestyles by offering a range of fun activities which build confidence and ultimately inspire an enthusiasm for being active throughout life.

· Secondary aim to engage parents and families in healthy lifestyle messages targeting disadvantage areas/ communities.

Objectives

· Establish regular school/ community sessions which build life skills, fitness, motivation and self-esteem particularly for those inactive participants enabling them to achieve a minimum of two or more hours of structured physical activity beyond the school day per week.

· Taking a whole family approach to encouraging healthy lifestyle choices, working in partnership with other organisations who actively provide provision which improves the whole families’ health and well-being.
