Abingdon Air & Country Show 4.33

RAF Abingdon traditionally held big annual Airshows until 1990. In 2000, Neil Porter the Event Organiser (a Landscape Gardener by day) had an idea, originally noted on a piece of A4 paper, to develop a show; and so from then on, we have grown our volunteer run event into one of the largest regional charity events on the calendar.

The committee comprise a Postman, Ex AirBP worker, a Bus driver & two retired staff. The 2015 event was the 16th annual event, staged with heavy rain at times & a smaller crowd because of this compared to 2014's warm, sunny conditions.

We have various aerobatic displays from warbirds and biplanes to modern day jets but there's plenty to see on the ground too with static aircraft displays, cockpits to sit in, as well as a great mix of re-enactment stalls, classic cars and country fayre traditions and craftsmanship.

Of course we have a wide range of food and beverage stalls, representing charity stalls and local crafts.

We thank you all for supporting our volunteer run event.We have been voted as one of the top events to attend in & around Abingdon by the locals and above all we're able to raise money for the Air Ambulance (Berks, Oxon, Bucks) with our thanks and appreciation to you.
