Details

Abbey is a small, family friendly sailing club with a great social side and an informal and friendly atmosphere, so why not pop along for a chat.

We sail on Sundays and Wednesday evenings. The club house is also open most Saturday afternoons for a potter about on the water, or just to chat and catch up with friends. We have good facilities; including a club house & bar, changing facilities with showers and a large & secure dinghy park.

We welcome new members whether you have previous sailing experience or not. We have a good, family friendly social calendar and children are welcome at most events, if accompanied by a parent or guardian. There’s always a lunch between races on Sundays, we have summer parties, sailing trips to Poole and the coast, our annual regatta and of course the end of season party to name just a few.

We have plenty of car parking and you can use the club house and facilities. You can even come along and just enjoy a picnic on the bank, watching the boats go by. You are very welcome to pop bye and watch the sailing, or chat with existing club members. If you’re an experienced dinghy sailor, but have no boat at present you are welcome to use the club boats for free if you are not using them for racing. Once you have joined with either a temporary or annual membership. A three month, temporary membership, is just £33.

If you’re new to sailing then why not come along and try it for a day. Bring along the rest of the family who can watch from the club house or have a go themselves, there's always something going on to occupy those not sailing.
