Abacus Driving School is owned and managed by Chris Welsh and is an independent driving school based in Norwich.

Chris, who has 29 years of experience, worked for BSM for two years after qualifying as an ADI then for 27 years has run his own driving school.

Chris is a friendly, patient driving instructor with a good sense of humour! If you are a first time learner or have driven before you will receive professional one to one tuition in a dual controlled car that will enable you to drive safely and confidently for life.

Chris is a highest grade instructor (Grade 6) and teaches in a unique way as he was a fully qualified motor mechanic before becoming an ADI, so he can explain the way the car works and give pupils an understanding of why you are being asked to follow his instruction and not just to do something because he tells you to. Pupils are able to learn faster this way and it probably explains why he has such a high first time pass rate.

Whether teaching a novice or giving refresher lessons we will tailor your instruction to your needs and include town and heavy traffic conditions, county and motorway driving (pass plus) and the dreaded parking!
