In August 1907 Arthur William Lymn conducted his first funeral and the undertakers originally trading as A.W. Lymn and now known as A.W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service was formed. Since then the business has continued to maintain the founder’s vision of placing the emphasis on:

Putting profits back into the company for the benefit of the client

The business is still wholly owned and managed by the founder’s family: The business is currently controlled by the fourth and fifth generations – Group Chief Executive Nigel, Managing Director Matthew, Jackie, Penny and Chloe. General Manager of The Craftsmen in Stone, is another of Arthur Lymn's Great Great Grandsons Ben Percival.

Although now officially retired, the third generation – Nigel and Jackie’s father George and mother Sheila still maintain an interest and keep a watching brief.
