FabLab（Fabrication laboratory 數位製造實驗室的簡稱）為一國際性組織，由美國麻省理工學院（MIT）於 1998 年於其媒體實驗室首先發起，以 Open source（開放原始碼）為基礎，是一個開放、設備完善的開放性數位製造實驗室，也是個鼓勵實作，相互分享知識的國際性社群。「數位製造」將開啟另種嶄新模式的未來趨勢，3D列印即是這股趨勢的核心關鍵，其技術與廣泛應用對新時代帶來了革命性的改變，而FabLab便是扮演引領這股趨勢的導航角色。我們希望透過台灣在地的FabLab Dynamic將這個技術與概念推廣給社會大眾。



主要特色：
• 科技性—人人都是發明家：提供先進、完善的數位製造的硬體設備與軟體資源，包含3D印表機、CNC電腦銑床、雷射切割機等數位生產工具、專業技術服務、課程等，讓大眾用最低的成本、最簡單易學的技術，認識並學習最新科技，在FabLab Dynamic中，你幾乎可以製作任何東西。

• 國際性—台灣創意，行銷世界：FabLab有別於一般研發實驗室，是富有凝聚力的國際性組織，透過國際網絡的串聯，可促進不同國家、地區、多元特色的FabLab合作交流、共同發展，使在地的計劃更容易在國際上曝光。

• 趨勢性—掌握最新創意概念趨勢：FabLab其中一項重要的技術與設備—3D printing(3D列印)，是目前極富未來性的新科技趨勢，由於其技術幾乎可以直接實現仍為概念的物件，是最貼近將原型想法實現的技術，也是最簡單地將創意想法實體化的方式，而3D printing在台灣正蓬勃發展，需要大家一起來FabLab Dynamic實作與分享。

Fablab (fabrication laboratory) is regarded as an international organization which originates from a collaboration between the Grassroots Invention Group and the Center for Bits and Atoms (CBA) at the Media Lab in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1998. Based on open source spirit, fablab is an open, well equipped with computer-controlled tools, and later developed as an international community which encourage people making things as well as knowledge sharing. It includes a laboratory space and educational activities such as workshops in order to build up international network and interaction.

In this regards, located in Shinlin District, Taipei, Taiwan, Fablab Dynamic is founded by the collaboration of Digital Art Center Taipei in 2013. As the international standard equipment, we provide a lab space equipped with a laser cutter, two 3D printers, small and big DIY CNC milling machines and a vinyl cutter. Fablab Dynamic initiates technology, global network, and future trend. By setting up the local fablab in Taiwan, we expect to make it local to global, and vice versa. Through the global framework and the integration of local resources, we hope to provide a meeting platform for creative people for interdisciplinary practice, creation, production, innovation as well as research. The application is broadly included architecture, design, art, industry and environmental engineering. Fablab Dynamic mainly focused on social design to find innovative solutions for society such as urban farming, free energy or new media art. In the meantime, we hope to expand collaborations with Asian network as well as the global interaction to create the dialogue of open source and digital fabrication.
