語言是人類溝通的媒介，格蘭的使命就是讓世界上不同區域的人類皆能使用中文、英文之一及地方語而互相溝通。對中國人來說就是讓中國人能戰勝英語，進而達成人類長遠之最高之理想“天下為公、世界大同”。

Language is the medium by which people communicate. It's GRAM's mission to enable people from different regions around the world to communicate in Chinese, English, or their own dialects. We hope to help the world’s Chinese-speaking population conquer English, in order to achieve Global World Peace – the highest ideal of humankind.
　　 小說家Adames亞當斯在小說中說到「人們在耳朵中塞進Babel Fish於是大家都能聽得懂彼此的語言」，這道出了人類想要彼此無溝通障礙之強烈願望。

　　 In his science-fiction novel The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Douglas Adams wrote, “When a Babel fish is inserted into the ear canal it allows the 'wearer' to instantly understand anything said...in any form of language". This shows the strong desire that human beings have, to be able to communicate without any language barriers.
