Sakin Hayat Evleri 3.18

Sakin Hayat' Evleri (translates as 'calm life cottages') are situated around 3km in Ecebeli on the outskirts of Yesil Uzuml village and approximately 20km from the bustling market town of Fethiye, and popular beach resort of Calis. The location is truly idyllic, a little haven surrounded by pine forests with plenty of open spaces; a place where you can escape the hustle and bustle of a busy life and truly experience the healing powers of mother nature. Close by is the ancient Lycian site of Kadyanda, easily accessible by car where the drive up offers some truly spectacular views of the valley, or by a designated walking path from the centre of the village. The site is well preserved and definitely worth a visit. For keen walkers and cyclists there are some very picturesque walks and paths to explore closeby.

A total of 3 buildings, there are two buildings each with 4 one bedroom apartments; a total of 8 rental apartments. Each apartment benefits from a private entrance, private terrace and comprises open plan kitchen & lounge with large sliding patio doors, one double bedroom, en-suite bathroom with walk in shower. The apartments are self-catering however there is also a large 'communal' kitchen in the third building which everyone is free to use; the idea being to prepare and cook food and to invite those staying in the apartments to join whenever they wish contributing only to the cost of the food, and helping in the preparation. All very relaxed! In this building there is also a comfortable lounge area with wood burner and a large terrace overlooking the pool.

The natural bathing pool, one of the first of its kind in the area has a separate regeneration zone with small waterfall features. Specific plants and lava rocks have been chosen to filter and oxygenate the water keeping it clean and providing an enjoyable and healthier alternative to chlorinated swimming pools!

The gardens are landscaped with meandering pathways and an abundance of trees and plants providing a profusion of colour year round. There is also an organic vegetable garden aswell as a wide variety of fruit trees.

Uzumlu village is a quaint little place where life is centered around a village square. It offers a nice balance of restaurants and wine houses; the area well known of course for its delicious home made wine! A number of village shops supply just about everything you may need. Dastar’ or shawl weaving is a tradition unique to the area and there are a number of working looms with small shops selling their own weaves aswell as those of their neighbours. A regular bus service departs to Fethiye during the summer, its a pleasant journey taking approximately 25 minutes.

The idea behind Sakin Hayat is one of well-being, a place of rest and relaxation and a chance to enjoy life at a slower pace. To remind ourselves of the unique power of nature and the stillness it creates within us when we choose to live in harmony with nature.
