About Us

Having started activity in the construction sector in 1980, Cengiz Holding is a large family of 35 companies and their associates today, expanding and growing with investments in major industries such as energy, mining and tourism. The annual turnover of the Group has reached up to USD 4 billion.

Having made its major investments in the construction industry and mainly performing operations in infrastructure works comprising construction of highways, bridges, tunnels, dams, ports, railways, metro lines, airports, pipelines, power plants and industrial facilities, Cengiz Holding also takes an active role in building tourism facilities and residential property.

Cengiz Construction has completed projects in amount of USD 3,65 billion and currently has ongoing projects in value of USD 10,60 billion.

In May 2013, the Joint Venture Group established under the leadership of Cengiz Construction was awarded the contract for "Istanbul New Airport Build - Operate - Transfer Project", which is one of the biggest and the most prestigious projects of Turkey, along with the right of operation for 25 years.

The Company has also been investing in the state-of-the-art technology for its machinery park which is aged less than 5 years and in value of over USD 250 million.

With the value of its completed and ongoing projects, Cengiz Construction is ranked among top five construction companies, specifically in large-scale infrastructure projects in Turkey. Moreover, Cengiz Construction is listed as the 127th company in the ENR Top 225 International Contractors List of 2013 and as the 2nd company among 14 Turkish Contractors in the ENR Top 400 Global Contractors List.

The Holding has sustained its growth since the year 2000 through investments in energy with new hydroelectric and thermal power plants of the latest technology. The Holding's fields of activity comprise power generation, power distribution, trading, sales and marketing and natural gas distribution.

Today, Cengiz Energy operates, along with Associates of Cengiz Holding, an installed capacity over 1000 MW which includes a hydroelectric power plants by 50% and a natural gas power plants by 50%, respectively.

Also, Cengiz Energy has investments in progress in energy sector with a total installed capacity of 4010 MW which includes hydroelectric power plants at a capacity of 2080 MW, coal-fired power plants at a capacity of 1320 MW, and gas-fired power plants at a capacity of 610 MW, respectively.

Along with its subsidiaries, Cengiz Energy is the market leader with a highly active position in power distribution in Turkey. With its 5 power distribution companies, Cengiz Energy distributes 30% of the total power consumed all across Turkey.

Cengiz Energy is among the most significant actors in Turkish energy market, possessing all qualifications required in fields of power generation, distribution and trading/ sales. Cengiz Energy with its power plants is ranked among top 5 power generation companies, and it aims at making higher contribution to total amount of power generation in Turkey.

Attaching great importance to investments in mining industry, Cengiz Holding acquired Eti Copper in year 2004 and Eti Aluminium in year 2005. The copper smelting plant of the Holding in Samsun is the only plant which produces copper cathode from ore in Turkey. Additionally, Eti Aluminium Plant is the only Aluminium manufacturer in Turkey. During its process of growth, Cengiz Holding has not only focused its activities on Cobalt Recovery but also integrated Wolfram mines in Bursa, Antimony mines in İzmir and Phosphate mines in Mazıdağı into its organization.
