‘Phuket International Academy (PIA) is a truly international school with boarding facilities and offers a world-class education for its students. It has at its core the International Baccalaureate Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Years Programmes. Founded in 2008 and situated on a 23ha site in the peaceful northern part of Phuket, Thailand, it currently has 330 students. Staff at PIA are all highly qualified and bring with them a wide variety of international experiences.

PIA firmly believes in a “Good heart, Balanced mind, Healthy body”. It is in the process of becoming a United World College (UWC), which makes education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future. PIA is a global leader in the budding movement to integrate evidence-based Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and secular Mindfulness into its academic curriculum. Alongside this, PIA is a Thanyapura, not for profit, affiliate, and PIA’s community has full access to its world-class sporting facilities. Students can also take part in PIA's High Performance Sports Programmes, which are coached by world champions.

PIA’s boarding house provides a ‘Home away from home’ for all of its residents aged between 13 and 18. Nestled on the boundary of a mountainous National Park.
