We are all familiar with Tequila. This famous spirit, made in Mexico from a cactus base, is very popular around the world. But less known is the fact that “Tequila” was also a known international music band that originated in Sweden with different members from Sweden, England and Mexico. It was a six peace band consisting of; guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, saxophone and trumpet. They toured many different countries and had great success.
Being the guitarist of the band Jorgen Hoglund the owner, finally ended up in Thailand after living in the USA for many years. He met his wonderful wife Supattra and together they decided to start a business. (Thailand lost a great government officer…)
They wanted to make a place where people could relax, listen to good music, eat good, have a cold one, drinks, be on the internet, do karaoke, watch entertainment, meet people, get take out food etc. The concept is musically based and will focus on always having quality music playing, both in the background and also at times with live performances, music videos as well as karaoke. Jorgen’s background as a touring musician helped to reach this goal as he has vast experience from entertainment spots all over the world and knew what it takes to create a good atmosphere. They also focus on great food and drinks.
They were looking for a place of business for a long time and finally found the perfect spot for the venture. It is located in Ban Phe, the port to go to Koh Samet. It is easily found as it is located on the south west side as you come in to Ban Phe from the beaches . It sits across the open plaza where there is aerobic in the evenings just across from the octopus shops on beach road. Every evening between 6pm-7pm there is an aerobic show to watch or participate in at the open plaza.
After long deliberations they decided name it “Tequila” both on the background and history of Jorgen’s band but also for the fact the they both love spicy food as well as enjoying a Margarita or Tequila and salsa. They wanted to have a little bit of Mexican food on the menu but also a variety of different international foods. As Jorgen was born in Sweden there is also some Swedish flair as well together with American and Thai influences.

Supattra is a great chef and not only makes delicious meals but they are also her own original creations so they won’t be found in other restaurants. East meets west… Some dishes are a little bit spicy and all delicious. You will be positively surprised.
There will be home brewed coffee and some bakery goods available in the mornings.
You can watch NHL hockey live in the mornings (night time in the USA) with a Screwdriver or Bloody Mary if so desired. Games will be available in evenings or afternoons as well.
Hockey and football games will be on the screens as well as video music concerts focusing on different bands from now and then.The relaxing, comfortable, inside outside areas create a “home like” feeling as if you are at a private party with friends at a home somewhere.
Our karaoke nights and days are special as we feature high quality music and sound. Internet is available to all guests. The premises can also be available for special occasions, parties, weddings etc. Monks are available upon request.
The bar has a full stock of most spirits, cold beers, wines and cocktails. They feature many special drinks that will vary from week to week.
All our dishes are available for take out take home.
We also offer help or advice on Thai issues such as visa renewals, Thai driver license, transfer of ownership, tours, taxi services even legal referrals are available.
They have created a different environment where people can relax, meet, connect, eat delicious foods, have drinks, watch a game, listen to music, watch a performance, sing a song, surf the internet, watch people, met new people or just relax in the inside outside bar/restaurant areas where there is always a nice breeze to make you comfortable.
They are trying to achieve quality on every level and the goal is that you will enjoy and make their “home” your favorite place to visit…
