RedCliff Coffee is a two-person operation based in Northern Thailand. After managing a Kona coffee farm in Hawaii and helping Agroforestry Net with a study on the benefits of shade-grown coffee, we moved to Northern Thailand and planted thousands of Arabica trees.

Today, we aim to show you that Thai coffee doesn’t have to be over-roasted and bland. In fact, with careful processing and the courage to discard beans that aren’t worthy of our label, we’ve managed to unlock a complex flavour profile that we frankly didn’t know existed in the strain of Arabica Thailand grows. All coffee is shipped within Thailand via EMS, so our customers in Thailand can have a freshly roasted packet of coffee delivered to their doorstep in three business days or less.

But that’s only half the story. If you like RedCliff now, you’re going to love us in about two more years. The coffee we’re growing up in Chiang Rai’s Wawi district is not run-of-the-mill Thai coffee. We’ve imported a few carefully cultivated strains from all over the world. To get an idea of what to expect, we pulled out small samples from our imported seed stock and then processed and roasted them.

The difference is unbelievable. When these trees are ready (we’re aiming for a small harvest in 2012), you may end up completely rethinking your expectations for coffee from Thailand.
