Sakhrai is a district of Nong Khai Province, northeastern Thailand.HistoryThe minor district was split off from Mueang Nong Khai district on April 30, 1994.Following a decision of the Thai government on May 15, 2007, all of the 81 minor districts were to be upgraded to full districts. With the publishing in the Royal Gazette on August 24 the upgrade became official.GeographyNeighboring districts are Tha Bo and Mueang Nong Khai of Nong Khai Province, and Phen and Ban Phue of Udon Thani Province.AdministrationThe district is subdivided into 3 subdistricts, which are further subdivided into 39 villages . There are no municipal area, and further 3 Tambon administrative organizations .
