Ban Lueam is a district in the northern part of Nakhon Ratchasima Province, northeastern Thailand.EtymologyThe name Lueam comes from the Ma Lueam tree . In the past, a big tree of this kind was the landmark of the village.HistoryTambon Ban Lueam, Wang Pho and Khok Krabueang were separated from Khong district to create a minor district on October 18, 1976. It was officially upgraded to a full district on January 1, 1988.GeographyNeighboring districts are Kaeng Sanam Nang, Bua Yai and Khong of Nakhon Ratchasima Province, and Noen Sa-nga and Mueang Chaiyaphum of Chaiyaphum Province.AdministrationThe district is subdivided into 4 subdistricts, which are further subdivided into 39 villages . Ban Lueam is also a subdistrict municipality covering parts of the tambon Ban Lueam and Wang Pho. There are further 4 Tambon administrative organizations .
