The Salvation Army is dedicated to meeting the needs of the poor and marginalized in the community without discrimination. Since 1935, we have been touching hearts, inspiring minds and nurturing souls, making a life-long impact on countless lives all over Singapore through the following social programmes:

• Gracehaven nurtures and guides young people who have had a difficult start in their young lives and have sometimes even found themselves in trouble with the law. Gracehaven, in their journey with these young people, endeavours to help them back onto the right path. Social workers endeavour to bring about the successful rehabilitation of every young person back into a safe home and community.

• The Haven provides a stable and loving home environment for children and young people who largely come from abused or neglected family backgrounds. Individual care plans, together with academic and enrichment programmes, help them build positive self-esteem and achieve their full potential.

• Prison Support Services - Kids In Play reaches out to children of imprisoned parents. Through our programmes, we help facilitate the reintegration of former inmates with their families and the community upon release.

• Youth Development Centre addresses the ever-changing needs of the young people in our community. We organise enrichment programmes for them with the aim of imparting life-long skills and values to them.

• Family Support Services help struggling families cope. The support services provided include casework management, counselling, food ration, financial assistance, health check services and elderly and youth support groups. Our Guardian Angel Project assists the elderly with transportation to clinics, grocery shopping, medication reminder, recreational activities, mail assistance and home refurbishment.

• Peacehaven Nursing Home is one of the largest nursing homes in Singapore with a capacity of 401 beds, providing a comprehensive gamut of quality services to care for the frail and elderly requiring nursing care. In addition, we have a transitional convalescent facility, Grace Corner which provides lower-intensity rehabilitation.

• Peacehaven Day Centres at Bedok and Changi offer the Integrated Home and Day Centre Programme. This day programme provides a combination of centre-based and home care for elderly living in the community.

Besides our social centres and homes, we also reach out to the community through:

• Red Shield Industries is the social enterprise arm of The Salvation Army. By re-using, recycling and restoring donations-in-kind from the public and corporations, we generate income through our Family Thrift Stores to support our mission to provide holistic care to the community. We also partner with the Institute of Mental Health, providing work opportunities to suitable clients.

• The Salvation Army Child Care Centres are located in four heartlands to care for the children in the community. Our programmes are designed to maximise a child’s full potential and focus on enhancing each child’s physical, intellectual, emotional and social development abilities through an integrated curriculum.

• The Salvation Army Corps is where the heart of the Army’s mission is found. Across our six corps (churches), we hold worship services in English, Chinese and Tamil. We also extend community support such as providing holistic and academic support for children and young people, and practical help to needy families.
