Ensuring food supply resilience is important to nations, in the midst of Climatic changes and rising food prices. As Singapore is a land scarce country, Jack the Founder, believed that high-rise vertical structure will allow farming to be done in urban and on non-arable land to achieve higher productivity. He started building his prototype in 2009. He designed a unique, patented A-vertical structure, which used special soil-based media-mix, to grown tropical green leafy vegetables, using multi-layer troughs in a rotating vertical system. The first vertical system in the world for growing green leafy vegetables, called “A-Go-GRO”, was successfully proven and launched on 28 Jan 2010.
