In Singapore Triggerpoint Academy we are taking an increasing interest in the ancient oriental mode of therapy known as "Triggerpoint Acupuncture Technique (TAT)". Triggerpoint Acupuncture Technique has such wide ranging healing properties as to be an effective alternative to orthodox medicine in the treatment of a large number of body discomfort.

Our principal trainer, Ms Joan Chan, has considerable knowledge concerning the neurophysiology of pain and acupuncture’s ability to alleviate pain.

It has become apparent that our STA "Triggerpoint Acupuncture Technique", which involves the movement of elbows and fingers (instead of dry needles - Latin needle) for the purpose of stimulating peripheral nerve endings, achieves its pain-relieving effect by virtue of its ability to evoke activity in pain modulating mechanisms present in the peripheral and central nervous systems.

The whole process involve the simultaneous movement of the elbows to remove the blockages that interrupt qi or vital energy 气. Immediately you will experience total body "lightness" feeling.

In the light of this discovery we in Singapore Triggerpoint Academy has conducted these TAT courses and our students in particular have revise their attitudes towards triggerpoint acupuncture technique as an alternative or complementary medicine.
Our techniques are based on the following books: * TAT is based on following books:
1. The Trigger Point Therapy Workshop by Clair Davies

2. Acupuncture -Triggerpoints and Musculoskeletal Pain by Peter E Baldry

3. Dr. Jonathan Kuttner's Life After Pain Triggerpoint Treatment:
