Kim Seng Wind Symphony (KSWS) began its humble musical path in 27 September 1992 as an amateur community centre band, then known as Pioneer Wind Symphony, with a handful of enthusiastic musicians under the baton of Mr Quek Boon Hui.

Tan Tuan Hao succeeded the highly experienced Tan Aik Koon as Resident Conductor in 2007. Previous Resident conductors of KSWS include Japanese Maestro Takehiro Oura, Andy Sim, Tan Beng Wee and the immensely talented Chan Peck Suan.

Since its inception, the Band established a reputable position in the local music scene, with its very own annual concert series.

The highly versatile band has performed a wide spectrum of music, from orchestral transcriptions to jazz, pop, contemporary compositions and a comprehensive range of band music. The band participated in an arts
and cultural exchange programme organised by Kagoshima Prefecture in Year 2009.

Kim Seng Wind Symphony brings together enthusiastic musicians from different age group, race, religion, drawing on their common love – music.

Today, the journey continues, towards providing a platform that will encourage our young musicians to achieve greater heights of artistic excellence.
