Home Team Volunteer Network 3.73

Home Team Volunteers come from different spheres of the community and are engaged either through serving on our various MHA Boards, Councils and Committees or participating in our various frontline volunteer programmes.

Those invited to serve on the various Home Team Boards, Councils and Committees contribute their professional expertise in the various Home Team focus areas such as drug abuse and crime prevention, criminal law, prison inmate disciplinary matters, etc. They also constitute the Board of Directors to oversee the management of our two statutory boards, namely CRA and SCORE.

The other Home Team volunteers come from a broad spectrum of Singapore society but all bonded by the same sense of shared responsibility to keep Singapore safe and secure. From the general public, we have the grassroots leaders, residents, senior citizens, teachers, students, businessmen, professionals, working adults and even former Home Team officers and NSmen. These volunteers partner our Home Team officers in various frontline operations and on-the-ground deployments, particularly in the areas of crime prevention, emergency response and preparedness training, anti-crime patrol duties, preventive drug education, fire-fighting and rescue, first aid and emergency medical services as we work towards being a #ANationOfLifeSavers, community involvement and public education. Some of our volunteers are also committed to helping inmates and ex-offenders turn over a new leaf, and they lend their support and expertise in the areas of religious counseling, mentoring, skills training for inmates and ex-offenders and organization of Yellow Ribbon events.
