Hj Mohd Salleh Mosque was founded by Haji Mohd Salleh Bin Ally on 16th May 1896 on a piece of land that belonged to Vena Meena Bok. The mosque was then tended and managed by Haji Salleh along with his children, relatives and close trusted family friends till 1939 when it became quite close to abandonment due to the Japanese Occupation. As they battled through rough time in preserving the mosque on it's 'wakaf' ground, a court order was at last obtained, thus a re-constructive works was allowed to be carried out on the 4th October 1959.

Upon completion as seen in the far left top corner of this page, the mosque which resembles a traditional kampong house, was well managed by Haji Ally's decendants before MUIS (Islamic Religious Council) was formed in 1968.

With the establishments of MUIS to overseas the whole mosque operations in Singapore, the board members in Haji Mohd Salleh's Mosque was left with no exceptions. A group of Volunteers were formed to take up roles and responsibilities as the members of Lembaga Pentadbir Masjid (Mosque Management Board)

In 1989, after a serious board meeting, every LPM member agrred to pull in all resources and generate income via charity and through sponsorships to have the mosque demolished and rebuild on it's same 'wakaf' ground. Demolishing and re-building works was then call out for on 26th July 1998 after the sufficient required amount was successfully raised.
After a massive 16 months of rebuilding and renovation works, the four storey mosque building finally stood tall proudly at no.245 Geylang Road, Singapore 389304.The new mosque then opened it's doors to members of the public officially on the 5th November 1999 respectively.

Standing tall and elegant in the heart of 'red hot district', MHMS as its's commonly called in short, provides both religious and circular classes and courses to members of the public namely residents living around the vicinity.

113 years had passed and though the building could be seen still standing firm and strong, it is calling for a major clinical check for its inner spaces that are pretty worn off. A major upgrading plan is on its way to give MHMS a new look with better facilities that could benefit and cater to the needs of both the young and golden citizens whom have been our faithful 'jemaah' over the pass decades and years to come.
We have plans to include a fully automated lift that could serve from the 1st to the 4th strorey of the building along with a much bigger spacious multi-purpose hall that could cater to many useful usage such as oparable classroom walls for the Madrasah classes, family and corporate events, solemnisations, engagements, seminars and many more.

To achieve our goals, we need members of the public help in coming forth with their support in all our upcoming Fundraising events which we will be organizing.
So here we are calling to all out there to play a part in helping us achieve our vissions for a better place to worship at Haji Mohd Salleh Mosque!

" May Allah S.W.T grant us His mercy and love as we strike our way through these Upgrading plans, amin."
