Background
----------
Prior to his entry into the real estate industry, Garry was a career soldier with the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN), serving the country and guarding the shores of Singapore. It was a life of sea, sand an adventure, the kind of story young boys hope to grow into.
Kelly, on the other hand, was a corporate executive in a local statutory board. It wasa life of stability, marked by Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), meetings and a predictable career path.Although their careers could not have seemed more different, the time would comewhen they would converge into real estate, unleashing the entrepreneurial spirit that had been bubbling in them for quite a while. In 2007, Kelly – desiring a career that equated effort with reward – decided to chart her own path by entering the real estate industry. Garry – also desiring to explore his own seas – altered his course into the previously uncharted waters of real estate, joining his wife to make waves in their newfound arena.
Experience
----------
A move to any new industry is always followed by a period when one has to learn fast, understand quickly and move decisively so as to ground oneself in the demands of the new arena. The same is true for both Kelly and Garry.
Joining another company initially, they soon discovered that support was sorely lacking and that it was really up to themselves to make it work. For Kelly, it was a case of adapting to the realities of her fledgling career. Having been in the corporate functions of a government-linked organisation, she had to get used to the straight-talking behaviour of clients, as well as making decisions for herself in the daily activities that define her new profession.
For Garry, it was a case of adapting whatever he had learnt from the Navy and his understanding of business into his new trade. The couple would soon find their place in Powerful Negotiators, the champion team in PropNex. It was there where their individual and combined strengths would shine, in terms of client servicing and team-building.
Focus
----
Both Kelly and Garry are active in the residential market in the North-Eastern parts of Singapore. Facilitating transactions in the HDB and private residential sectors, Kelly and Garry are especially focused in the areas within District 19, which encompasses Serangoon Garden, Hougang and Punggol.But rather than talking about a Geographical Target Area (GTA) as a focus, it would be more appropriate to talk about Garry and Kelly’s approach as a client focus.“I am really proud to say that I have clients who have stuck with me since Day 1 of my real estate career. Many of these clients have become my friends, and they have been the source of many referrals that have made this career all the more fulfilling,” Kelly elaborates.“That’s the same for me. When clients realise that it is their interests that I am taking care of, they open up to me and many of the clients whom I served in the initial stages of my career are still very much in touch with me,” Garry adds.The energetic duo are heavily involved in team-building too. Since joining Powerful Negotiators, the two have doubled the number of people in their team – from 30 to 60 – within a short span of 11 months. They want their own Real Estate Salespersons to do the same too, so that they too, can go out and deliver a service with excellence.

Accolades And Awards

Anyone can claim that they are good, but for Garry and Kelly, proof of their professionalism come in the results they get.The dynamic couple have been the winners of multiple awards since joining the industry. For example, in the 3rd Producers’ award while Garry was ranked among the Top 10 Division Directors in quarter of 2013, Kelly attained the Top 100 PropNex. The list can go on and on, but it is really what the clients feel about them that matter.
Recruitment

Other team leaders might boast about their one-to-one coaching, but to Kelly and Garry, it is two-to-one coaching that they will offer.After many years in the industry, Kelly and Garry have carved out individual niches that will benefit Real Estate Salespersons who join them. “I would be able to guide in the area of recruitment, while Kelly would be able to coach in the area of sales,” Garry explains, “yet, we are versatile enough to do what the other is doing so at no time will our associates have nobody to turn to.”
As such, it will be an all-round support, guidance and mentorship that the husband and wife team is offering. And as part of the Powerful Negotiators group, new entrants would have access to the centralised training platform that the team provides.
“And did we forget to mention that both of us are also trainers in Powerful Negotiators?” Kelly interjects enthusiastically.
