Business Innovation Sucks!

No matter whether we are talking about banks, car manufacturers, insurance companies, publishing houses, airlines, equipment manufacturers or even consultants; all are entangled within their own self-serving structures.

We deplore the low success rate of today’s approaches to strategic business innovation. Neither the theories or workshops have made established organisations more innovative. Nowhere can we observe quantum leaps made by so called market leaders.

Our conclusion? There is something fundamentally wrong.

Blue Oceans, Business Model Generation and all the others concepts simply do not go far enough. They do not force the corporations to truly challenge themselves. Therefore, the established miss great opportunities in their industry, or worse, become the 'play thing' of aggressive attackers. They become a pawn on the chessboard that they once dominated.

At Engenious we are making use of a different approach. It’s not about seizing white spaces or sailing to blue oceans; we give managers the task to [virtually] attack their own organisation. They expose Corporate Achilles’ and strike hard.

This is the stuff nightmares are made of. This is what causes managers to wake up at night, drenched in sweat.

Bold moves become the basis for making quantum leaps. Decisive action becomes an imperative.
