*Interesting background and history how we started*

Dear all, if you are wondering why I disappeared for close to 3 months since early Feb, here's the short summary

I helped a good friend rent out their retail space in Feb to a India Indian (not resident here) who wanted to do a Minimart and allow her daughter to study here.
I was later approached to be the local partner for his newly start up biz, on the basis that I was Chinese and a potential good partner, they will foot the investments and we co manage the operations
Biz operations commenced on 5th March, we ran 24hrs by the 15th March and employed a total of 3 full timers and several part timers (you might have seen me advertising for manpower earlier)
By End March, Indian Partners claimed to have ran out of cash, I had a long family trip preplanned on 1st - 11th April, it wasn't' right that our Singaporean employees don't get paid on time. I injected 5k to pay for their salary and also agreed to foot the purchase of IT equipment(15k) returned to Singapore and met them on 12th April,

In short, "please continue to finance the investment as per agreement or shut down operations and make good salary and other pending supplier payments"

They disappeared by the next day, breaking the lease on their rented property, took all the IT equipment which I paid for and absconded from Singapore. Half our store supplies were confiscated by the resident landlord.

We settled the salary and supplier payments, we made our police reports, we deliberated long and hard, it wasn't an easy choice,

- I have a thriving real estate operations that takes a lot of my time
- We have 2 minimarts and a 7-11 facing us within 100m and NTUC Finest 24hrs 200m away
- Cash is in short supply
- I have never done this before, neither my family

However on the other end

- I loved the retail environment
- We have 3 excellent, people friendly and full of integrity colleagues

My wife and I have been putting in 15 hour shifts to plan supplies, pack retail shopfront, set systems,make friends, do market analysis, manage and build a membership program for the past 4 weeks, absolute revenue has increased 100% the first 2 weeks and currently a further 200% from that point, we need 3 times the current revenue to just break even (don't make a single cent)

Our staffs willingly took pay cuts, our regulars encouraged us, my friends and RC members visit us often, the smile on satisfied customer's faces and the prayers of my friends, all these and more,

We have decided to take the plunge, this time next year, either we will own a successful fledging Minimart biz or I may be bankrupt. (Volunteers for blessing my family with breakfast, lunch and dinner needed if that happens )

Every like, every prayer, every encouragement is so precious to us now, we won't forget our friends who have stayed with us on this journey. Let it not be said we lack courage.
