Ah Hock and Peng Yu 3.2

AH HOCK and PENG YU (AHPY) is a Singapore/Malaysia based contemporary art collective founded by Khek Ah Hock Aaron, Hong Kong trained dancer/choreographer and Wong Thien Pau Ix, former dancer with the City Contemporary Dance Company (HK), both full scholars from the prestigious Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and formally from the Arts Fission Company as choreographers, rehearsal director and dancers. Khek choreography [Bowl of Containment] is one of the finalists of the Young Choreographers’ Platform in 2002 choreographing on the Singapore Dance Theatre. The National Arts Council (Singapore) awarded the Young Artist Award (2005) to Khek for his outstanding contribution and development as an artist/choreographer for the country.

Aaron and Ix likes to work with different artists and have since professionally created work for Singapore Dance Theatre, Action Theatre (Singapore), Young Peoples’ Performing Arts Ensemble, Singapore Repertory Theatre, The Necessary Stage, W!LDRICE and the Urban Folk Dance group of Breast Cancer Foundation.

AHPY believes in setting a strong and consistent track record of high quality art practice for contemporary Singapore, and beyond. AHPY enjoys crossing boundaries between dance, performance art and visual arts. AHPY believes in using nature, tea, and love to make people think and feel.
