Abhinaya Natya School - The abode of Classical Dance
Dance isn’t about posture or technique or being bound by directions.
Dance is about expressing yourself, it is about shedding your inhibitions and sharing your zest for life.

This is the core belief that drives Abhinaya Ntaya School. Abhinaya Natya is not a school instructing students, but the abode of classical dance where students are mentored in different forms of dance and made to appreciate this performing art.

At Abhinaya Natya the primary focus is on the classical dance form of Kuchipudi, a form that blends dance, drama and music. Kuchipudi is one of eight Indian classical dance forms. It is named after a village in
the state of Andhra Pradesh, called “Kuchipudi”, where it originated. We are one of the few learning centers in Singapore dedicated to keeping the heritage of Kuchipudi alive. Since our humble beginnings with 3 students in 2011, today we are 25+ students strong, few of whom will be ready for Arangetram by 2017. Kuchipudi is based on the Natya Shastra, a detailed codified text on dance, music, and theatre. The Hand face and body gestures movements are identified in this draturgival text used by the dancer to b bring alive any poem, song or text. Most of the Kuchipudi dances are based on Hindu Mythology and spirituality. We at Abhinay Natya follow the principles of Natya Shastra while mentoring our students. At Abhinaya Natya, we make learning fun for kids using innovative teaching methods which are systematic. Our methods help children imbibe the authentic form of Kuchipudi effortlessly.
In addition, Abhinaya Natya , also conducts regular workshops and performance based classes in semi-classical,fusion and folk dance forms. Our students have performed at various community and national events throughout Singapore and received several accolades.
Abhinaya Natya is located at Punggol and opens its doors to young kids who wish to express themselves through dance. We enrol kids from the age of 4 and above. Parents interested in introducing their children to the joy of dancing are most welcome to contact Ms. Pratyusha at +65 90263813 or 66736904.
