Ramadan On Wheels (ROW) has been an integral part of 4PM's volunteer based community service yearly, and this year, marks the 15th. Following the theme, "Building Hope; 15 years of Giving", ROW 2016 aims to provide entrepreneurial skills to beneficiaries from low income families. As for the elderly beneficiaries, 4PM will continue to provide befriender services on top of monthly vouchers for their grocery needs. Since its launch in 2001, ROW has reached out to about 2746 families with the support of 9599 volunteers.

4PM was awarded the People Association (PA) Community Spirit Awards 2011 for our achievements through Ramadan on Wheels for the past 10 years. In 2014, 4PM was conferred the Singapore Youth Award Medal of Commendation for achieving, contributing and inspiring youths at significantly higher level after being awarded the Singapore Youth Award in 2006.

ROW this year would be held from April to June 2016, reaching out to 150 families (300 pax) beneficiaries who are struggling to make their ends meet. These beneficiaries are mainly from: a) the family in needs, per capita income below $300 or monthly income less than $1,500 and having young children up to the age of 21 years old; and b) lonely elderly or disabled who are at risk of isolation, no source of income , and without or minimal family support.

Much like the years before, ROW 2016 continues to provide monthly elderly befriending programme, series of skills training geared towards entrepreneurship for the families, monthly groceries vouchers, home improvement and gathering. Being a volunteer driven project, ROW 2016 continues to leverage on the community spirit of co-operation with the common purpose to help uplift the community. Volunteers from all races, regardless of age and religions, work hand in hand to deliver social service for the elderly and disadvantage families, which in turn facilitate deep positive interactions, and foster familiarity and friendships among individuals from different communities. These interactions help to promote understanding about cultures and practices of different communities.
