Hong San Si Temple (zhang yi feng shan si) was founded in the early 20th Century by a Peranakan Chinese who worked in the police force. Due to the founder's profession, this temple is known to some as 'Tua Kou Hong San Si' ('Tua Kou' means police in Hokkien). The temple was last rebuilt in 1987 on the same site, and it is now a 3-storey building.
