Syriac Cross 2.46

The Syriac Cross stands for human rights and equality for all. We operate according to the principles of the International Committee of Road Cross (ICRC), agreed in the Geneva Convention.

The Syriac Cross was founded in 2013 in Al-Malikiyah, Syria due to the massive need of humanitarian aid in a country raged in civil war. In time, the organization developed and established a broader platform to work in even more countries. We are now current in not only Syria, but also Lebanon, Iraq and Turkey. Throughout our now almost three years of work we have done many projects that has helped thousands of families. Some examples of accomplished projects;

• Winterization Project: In Al-Hasakah (Eastern Syria), Homs (Southern Syria) and Erbil & Duhok (northern Iraq).

Information: Providing non-food item (NFI), such as winter clothing, blankets etc.
Outcome: To a total cost of 220.000$, reaching out to 2.400 families.

• Food Parcel Project: In Al-Hasakah (Eastern Syria), Zahle and Beirut (Lebanon).

Information: Providing basic food packages to internally displaced people (IDPs). The packages contained basic dry food such as sugar, flour, rice etc.
Outcome: To a total cost of 270.000$, reaching out to 2.800 families.

• Hygiene articles projects: In Al-hasakah (Eastern Syria), Homs (Southern Syria)

Information: Providing hygiene kits with the help of Syriac Cross in Syria.
Outcome: To a total cost of 110.000$, reaching out to 550 families.

The response from the families receiving the help has been extraordinary. These projects and all other projects we have done are still not enough. The situation on the ground in both Syria and Iraq is dire and more help is needed.
