Together we prototype the future!
ProLab var en 1000 m2 arena för utvecklingen av nya lösningar på våra gemensamma samhällsutmaningar på Lund University.

Men Lunds universitets ledning bestämde att LU Open som ansvarat för Pro Lab skulle stänga - trots 3 mycket framgångsrika år då LU Open säkrat över 500 miljoner till utvecklingsprojekt för att lyfta universitetet (Pro Lab) eller adressera samhällsutmaningar.

Pro Lab hade över 6000 besök på 6 månader men som lokal stängs den således för gott den 30 juni men denna Pro Lab sida kommer dock inte stänga då ni alla fortfarande finns kvar.

Fristående från LU kommer vi här fortsätta informera om intressanta events, idéer och verktyg som är av intresse för alla som vill vara med och utveckla bra lösningar för allas vår framtid.

Pro Lab was a 1000m2 facility at Lund University financed by the European Regional Development Fund and Vinnova.

Now it´s an virtual arena for anyone interested in agile protoyyping and adressing societal challenges through open innovation and mutual collaboration.

ProLab welcomes all curious and visionary people with fearless ambition. Whether you’re a students, researchers, from the public sector or a company we invite you to break boundaries and join us in the quest for new and inspirational solutions, products and systems. To make it happen - ProLab will be accessible 24/7 as creativity does not always follow traditional work-hours.

The arena will be equipped with a wide scope of digital fabrication e quipment ranging from desktop 3D printing and digital, electronic prototyping while providing a wast knowledge in design methodologies and open innovation.

WHY a ProLab!
Around the globe we are witnessing an on-going transformation of the landscape for product development and agile innovation. As a direct result of this there is an increasing need for efficient and new models in concept development, digital and physical prototyping and explorative research.

This calls for new and agile models for product and system development, accelerating
time to market and better serving the needs and demands from ever more connected customers.

At ProLab we are now spearheading this development through the initiation of a unique collaboration and development arena for concept development, rapid prototyping all the way towards proof-of concepts.

ProLab serves as an enabling entrance point to all of the vast resources of Lund University.

Over 20 project coordination experts are therefore connected to ProLab, serving to develop larger collaborations based on match-making between companies, experts and researchers, helping to form fruitful collaborations, while at the same time securing external fund raising, both from national and international funding sources.

These experts are directly linked to ProLab and functions as a non biased intermediary between industry and academia, securing a win-win collaboration that provides relevant pro-bono to all partners involved.
