Huset som hotellet ligger i har en lång och spännande historia. Det uppfördes som bostadshus 1938 efter ritningar av den erkände arkitekten Ernst Grönwall. Huset var ovanligt, i bygglovet stod det “uthyrning sker till ensamstående person och ej till familj”. På gatuplan fanns bageri och konditori, och under en period var receptionen en handskaffär. Fastigheten byggdes om till hotell år 1967 och fick då sitt namn efter den berömda Hertigen av Wellington.

exciting history
The house, which the hotel has a long and fascinating history. It was built as a residence in 1938, designed by the renowned architect Ernst Gronwall. The house was unusual, in the building permit, it was "hiring is made to single persons and not a familyhouse". On the ground floor was a bakery and pastry shop, and for a period was a reception glove shop. The property was converted into a hotel in 1967 and received its name from the famous Duke of Wellington.
