Qassim University, College of Architecture, AbuDhabi-Buraydah 4

The College of Architecture in Buraydah Branch also known as the College of Architecture, Planning, and Design in Qassim University started in the academic year 2010-2011 with only 31 freshmen students. It had a full-time Dean, Professor Sulaiman Alyhya (also the Dean of Engineering). Dr. Abdulrahman Almarshoud (also the Dean of Engineering) became the Dean of Architecture and Dr.Abdulaziz Alaboodi became the Vice Dean on May 2011. Prof Sulaiman and Dr. Alaboodi initiated the construction of a shop room, which housed the carpentry and foundry shops and studio room, which was used for architectural drawings. The first batch of faculties were Dr. Al Hazmin who was teaching principles of architecture design studio, Dr. Gene Blantocas who was teaching Mathematics and Physics, Dr. Djamel Dilmi who was teaching history of architecture and history of material culture, Dr. Tomas Ganiron Jr who was teaching Structures for Architects and Environmental Control System, Dr. Asaad Abu Ghazala who was teaching Studio Design and Architect Mohammed Faheem who was teaching digital media in design. After some time, Dr. Alaboodi and Dr. Almarshoud decided to leave the College for some other reasons. An officer-in-charge in the person of Dr. Hazmin manned the College. Dr. Hazmin worked on the revision of the Architecture curricula based on the existing NAAB guidelines. The studio building was constructed under the term of Dr. Alaboodi. He also worked on the acquisition of more books and laboratory equipment for architecture students, and the improvement of the laboratory facilities. In 2012-2013, an additional 10 architecture faculties were hired. Namely, Dr. Ahmed Osman, Dr. Khaled Heba, Dr. Mostafa Ghareeb, Architect Ehab Sanad, Architect Eslam Moraekip, Architect Ayman Elhag, Architect Hisham Elfadil, Architect Muzaffer Ali, Architect Shady Okasha and Architect Mohammed Alzahrani.
