Being a lecturer in University Law College, Quetta since 2008, I have been teaching Jurisprudence. It is a subject which explores the basic, fundamental principles of all the legal systems of the world. During these days I have observed that students are facing immense problems in understanding Jurisprudence. It is partly due to the tough and dry nature of the subject and partly due to the unavailability of the standard text books for LL.B. level students. Though certain text books are available e.g. "Salmond on Jurisprudence by PJ Fitzgerald", "Jurisprudence by V.D. Mahajan", "A Text Book of Jurisprudence" by G.W. Paton" etc. But the problem with these books is that they have been written abroad which shall be best fitted in their own legal climate and may not be grasped by the students in Pakistan, particularly Balochistan with a distinct academic and legal atmosphere. Though there is a book written by a Pakistan writer "Jurisprudence by Ahsan Niazi", but it is too not helpful to the students in Pakistan. This book is far more complicated due to the reason that it included a jumble of topics but explain non in detail up to the level of a LL.B. Part-I student. Therefore, the difficulty of the students is obvious.
At the other hand I am also realizing the importance and expanding use of Internet now-a-days.
Therefore, I have come up with an idea of launching a facebook page of Jurisprudence last year (2013) .... with an intention to help the students and try to make jurisprudence easier for them to understand. This page is providing the full information regarding class lectures, notifications, handouts, notes and links to important books, notes and presentations. I hope this may prove supportive for the students and others interested in Jurisprudence.....Best of Luck
