THE ENGINEER, national newspaper of engineering is the pioneer in engineering journalism in Pakistan. First edition of THE ENGINEER was published in 1962. Since then THE ENGINEER, has never gone back. Now it has completed 50 years of regular publication. Late Mr. Rehman Akhtar, was founder of THE ENGINEER, his services for engineering industries have become a symbol. He believed that engineering journalism was the need of that time, he always worked hard and his untiring efforts proved positive for this country.

In these 50 years THE ENGINEER, always stood with the professionals for the betterment of this great country. During these five decades THE ENGINEER, achieved many records. Institutions like Pakistan Engineering Council, Pakistan Engineering Congress, Institution of Engineers Pakistan and Institution of Electrical & Electronics Engineers always appreciated the services rendered by THE ENGINEER, for the engineering industry. PEC and IEP awarded shields to recognize the meritorious services of THE ENGINEER.

In these 50 years, THE ENGINEER, played positive role for the betterment of the engineering industry of Pakistan at both national and international forums. almost every eminent engineers appreciated the role of THE ENGINEER, and expressed their point of view on many forums in Pakistan.

THE ENGINEER, with vast circulation from Karachi to all over Pakistan touching every nook and corner of industry , is published every month and covers all the important events in the country related to engineering professionals.
