We at SM Landscape Design Studio are well versed in classical, traditional and modernist design principles. Each design decision integrates aesthetic and contextual imperatives with those of budget, materials, technology, and construction techniques.

We create outdoor environments that express the home owner’s visual sensibilities, culture, taste and lifestyle. Every nuance – from the shadow cast by a tree to the sound of water moving through a stone-stream bed – is considered.

When required and relevant, we make sure a network of multidisciplinary external construction is involved, often collaborating with engineers, architects, interior designers and other professionals. We work with continual consultation with the client to ensure the brief is met and that a successful landscape design and installation is achieved.

The process:

At the first consultation, we’ll discuss the way you want to use your landscape, taking into account your personal tastes, the architecture of your home and your lifestyle. The next step is the development of ideas with concept sketches. Once you’re completely satisfied with the direction, we’ll continue with artist renderings to illustrate the final vision. After which all the detailed working drawings come into action according to the Landscape Architectural Graphic Standards and the work is taken further into execution. The process is extremely subjective, unique to every client so that your landscape is distinctive.

Selma Mufaddal – Principal Designer at SM Landscape Design Studio, a Certified Landscape Specialist - US and a Bachelors in Industrial Design - VS, Karachi University has worked her initial years at DAZ studio, Khilat Kafeel Landscape Consultants and Rizwan Sadiq Architects, the experience that she will cherish for good. She has nurtured her brain child from a one man show to a company in 7 years with consistency and has thinks that "my clients are one of me and that their time and money is as precious as mine."
