District Kasur, the home of Baba Bulleh Shah and many other mystics who preached Islam and spread the light of divine religion in this part of the world. The district Kasur was created on Ist July, 1976, prior to that it was a tehsil of district Lahore. It is at a distance of 53 kilometer south-east of Lahore. The district Kasur is bounded by River Ravi in the north-west and River Sutleg in the south-east. Whereas, the old course of River Bias segregates the district in to almost two equal parts, locally known as 'Hithar' and 'Uthar'. Kasur is located adjacent to the border Ganda Singh Wala between Pakistan and India. The flags lowering ceremony on this boarder is a source of attraction for the tourists. The district mainly produces wheat, sugarcane, rice and some other crops like cotton, corn, fodder etc.

There was hardly any institution imparting quality education in the field of commerce and basic sciences in Kasur.
