Pizza Mechanics 4.6

“Pizza Mechanics” sounds a tad awkward and obscure for a restaurant name. So, is it a well thought out oxymoron or just plain lingual ineptness on part of the founder? Let us dig in and find out.
The man behind the concept, Mr. Khurshid Us Samad, spent his adolescence in the United States; being a mechanical engineer by trade, he worked for the automobile giant Land Rover, “Cars were and have always been my first love”, he says. His fascination with all the intricate details of cars like suspension, chassis, engine and whatnot evoked in him a desire to take his passion to a whole new level.
Upon returning from the States, Khurshid Us Samad put forth an idea; an idea that forced himself to break away from the run of the mill restaurants, who very un- inspiringly have nothing substantial to offer customers except for cordiality and their menu. “My aim was to give consumers not just Pizzas and Pastas, but an overwhelming experience, because once you enter inside any big name restaurant, they all appear the same! Since their interior is dull, boring and mundane.”, says Mr. Khurshid.
Bearing that in mind, Mr. Khurshid thought out of the box; he decorated the restaurant with customized sports car seats, chequered flags, car transmission systems and various other automobile artifacts. “I wanted to make a community of people who are obsessed with modern, vintage and any type of automobile, where they can come and be part of its history and present; whilst also enjoying a delicious slice of Pizza”. So, why invest your money and passion in a restaurant and not some other business? Mr. Khurshid explains, “I worked a year or two at Papa Johns in the States, which helped me to learn a great deal about the restaurant business. Besides, I am also an M.B.A, so it naturally occurred to me that let’s go for something different and I gave it a shot”.
Despite financial obstructions, Khurshid Us Samad’s bold idea is in its third year of operations and is certainly reaping success, as the restaurant has already established itself as the firm favorite not only among automobile enthusiasts, but contemporary audiences who want to have a memorable experience more than just fine dining.
