The Department of Chemistry at Gomal University is one of the nation's top chemistry departments. The Department presently has nearly 20 faculty members, all of whom participate in the graduate educational program and direct active research programs. The Department's program of teaching and research spans the breadth of chemistry. General areas covered include bio- chemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical & environmental chemistry and industrial chemistry. Specialized areas such as bioinorganic chemistry, biophysical chemistry, organ metallic chemistry, physical organic chemistry, synthesis, surface chemistry, polymer chemistry and colloid chemistry are also covered.
