It is my immense pleasure to welcome you all on this wonderful platform of DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL THERAPY AND REHABILITATION SCIENCES, Faculty of Health and Allied Sciences provided by the IMPERIAL COLLEGE OF BUSINESS STUDIES (IMPERIAL UNIVERSITY). Physical therapy (Physiotherapy) is a branch of medical science and an essential segment of modern health care system. It is a “science of healing and art of caring”. It pertains to the clinical examination, evaluation, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of so many disorders which covers 24 specialties of medicine out of 27. We are committed and highly dedicated to accomplish physiotherapy mission statement:
“ To establish a state-of-the-art teaching, clinical & research Division of Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation at IMPERIAL COLLEG OF BUSINESS STUDIES for basic & advanced learning activities along with quality undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy education in line with current national & international higher standards.”
Scope of physiotherapy practice is very diverse. Physiotherapy practice has a very long history & modern clinical practice is heavily reliant on research & evidence based practice, intended to overcome quackery in the field of physiotherapy. Keeping in view the recent growth & advancement of physical therapy profession, an updated physiotherapy curriculum has been developed to prepare physical therapist for independent practice in the field of rehabilitation and IMPERIAL UNIVERSITY has implemented this dynamic course. I am very much thankful to university management and in particular Prof. Dr. Syed Amir Gilani for his broader vision and continuous and dedicated support for the development of this rapidly emerging field. I whole heartedly welcome all my students for being part of this well reputed university and wish all of you very best wishes and bright future ahead.
